Street single off Blueprint 3, dropping Sept 11, 2009…

After news broke last week that Jay-Z has been speaking to both Warner and Sony since leaving Def Jam Recordings, it seems as if the Brooklyn MC has found a new home. Actually it looks like he found two.

MTV News has confirmed that Jay’s new album, The Blueprint 3, will be coming out on the 8th anniversary of his original multi-platinum selling Blueprint. Rumored to hit shelves on September 11, the disc will be on Atlantic Records, which falls under his past partners Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles’ Waner Music Group company.

According to Billboard, Blueprint will also be distributed through Roc Nation and a formal announcement of the deal will take place at this Sunday’s (June 7) Summer Jam concert in New Jersey presented by Hot 97. Read more after the jump… (more…)

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s lawsuit against engineering firm BVH, regarding pricey repairs made to his mansion, continued Thursday (June 4) with the rapper’s attorney calling in an architect to testify.

Architect James Cicalo took the stand in a Connecticut courtroom and supported Fif’s claims.

In court Thursday, Jackson’s attorney, Michael Feldman, asked his expert witness, architect James Cicalo, if it was important for Jackson to get accurate figures before buying the home. “Any purchaser wants to know what to expect,” said Cicalo, of FSI Architects. During several hours on the witness stand, Cicalo told Hartford Superior Court Judge Eliot Prescott that he believes BVH was off on many of its estimates, perhaps by as much as $2 million. For instance, he said BVH estimated that a roof replacement for the 50,000-square-foot mansion would cost $250,000, but that the actual cost for the “roof replacement of the main house, I think it’s $549,000.” (WFSB News) Read more after the jump… (more…)

Some applaud the MTV Movie Awards gag, others don’t.

Hard as it may be for some to believe that Eminem was in on his incident with Brüno at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, the MC’s comments on the stunt have certainly gotten fans talking.

After Eminem said he was “thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it,” the response was sharply divided over whether the bit was a hilarious display of good humor by Slim Shady or a bad look for a rapper.

Many of the comments applauded Eminem and Brüno for pulling off the stunt so well. MTViewer89 labeled it “one of the best pranks of all time had so many people fooled including me. People were getting so emotional about it. Hell yeah, Shady, best prank ever.” Read more after the jump… (more…)
